Last Friday, attorneys Rossana Arteaga Gomez and Peter Godwin represented our client in oral argument against the Republic of Iraq and the Ministry of Industry & Minerals of the Republic of Iraq before a three-judge panel.
The argument addressed whether the Iraqi government waived its sovereign immunity by expressly requiring that enforcement of the agreement to satisfy a debt be pursued through a foreign-court judgment—one to which Iraq agreed it would assert no defense.
